The prison journal Iris Bheag

Iris Bheag (Little Magazine) an internal discussion periodical, mostly through contributions from the prisoners Cumann, that was thrown open to the rank and file. It provided a channel for education officers, activists and especially for the prisoners to contribute to the political development of Sinn Fein in the 1980s.

 Iris Bheag  was issued monthly from the Sinn Fein’s Education Department, Rose Dugdale,Terry Moore, Mick O’Brien, Jim Monaghan and Philip Ferguson. The first edition of Iris Bheag the prison journal was in  1987  it was replaced by the glossy, Captive Voice around 1990.
