A copy of the oration delivered by Frank Morris, (Saor Uladh) Co, Donegal, at the funeral of Socialist Republican Jimmy Clark who was buried at Carrickmore, Co, Tyrone on Wednesday 22 February, 1995.
On Easter 1942 in Dungannon two IRA volunteers , Jimmy Clarke and Sean Donnelly evaded arrest by shooting two RUC men. They managed to contact help before the RUC net closed in and were whisked across the border. Clarke’s friend Frank Morris, who helped get him and Donnelly away,began shooting when detained at a RUC border checkpoint on the Donegal border. Morris was sentenced to ten years and fifteen strokes of the cat for attempted murder. Clark died after a long eventful-life on the 20 February 1995 and was buried in Carrickmore, Co, Tyrone.
