Clan na Gael 1950’s IRA Funds Appeal.

Clan na Gael 1950’s IRA Funds Appeal.

Socialist Republican Jim Lane said” I came across this little memento a few days ago, I remember it was sent to me by some Clan na Gael of America, in the early 60’s. It would have been circulated in Ireland and the US in the 50’s during Operation Harvest. By the way, 2/6 was equivalent to an 1/8 of a pound, only a few pence or cents today. 2 shilling and 6 pence = 2/6 was worth 30 pence and there were 240 pence in a pound. All this was far from the big bucks they get in the US nowadays”.
