letter from Irish socialist Frank Keane awaiting extradition proceedings in Brixton jail.

“The magistrate in his summing up said that he had no doubt whatsoever that I was politically involved. This should stand to my benefit at a later stage and should really nail the lie that I’m a gangster a criminal” Frank Keane, Brixton jail, 14th August, 1970.

Socialist Frank Keane would spend a year in Brixton jail, awaiting extradition proceedings. He was charged with killing a policeman during a Dublin bank raid, said to be the work of  Saor Eire. Keane would eventually stand trial in Dublin and be acquitted.                    PDF-  Frank Keane- letter from Brixton jail
